AOL Server Farm
Perhaps one day soon we will have some good news to report on our AOL customer. Today saw us visiting them again when their AOL Broadband wasn’t working yet again!
Upon arrival we checked out everything to find it had magically started to work. A phone call to AOL Technical Support saw us speaking with James. Within a few minutes he informed us that all AOL UK Broadband customers get routed through a server farm in the US and the said farm has been down for the best part of two days.

“all UK Broadband get routed through a server farm in the US…”
Funny, mine hasn’t been down ever. And why wasn’t such a major outage reported via major sources like slashdot, the BBC, etc.?
John has just pointed out the kind of nonsense telephone support hands out on an all too regular basis.

No it is only AOL Broadband that should have been affected. It is their proprietory systems that route through the US. The customer has recently spoke with the AOL Support people who now deny that there was ever a problem with the server farm! Is this incompetence or lies? Make up your own mind.
