Broadband Is Here!

Thanks for visiting!

Our broadband connection has been turned on four days early. It wasn’t due to go on until Monday according to the Zen reseller tools, but BT and Zen Internet seems to have done the business early. The router was announcing the availability of ADSL when we check it this evening. It is our belief that it went live sometime between 3pm and 10pm.

It is really noticeable when checking, downloading and uploading email. Previously, this could to take anywhere for 5 seconds to 15 minutes depending on the emails being downloaded. Now it is a mere few seconds!

However, the greatest benefits are getting rid of the modem cable from the laptop and having the telephone line free for calls.

Now where is that Internet so we can download the lot of it!

Good News from Our AOL Customer

Our A-Oh-Hell customer is now working with some Netgear kit. Occasionally, even this approved router is falling foul of the AOL systems, but it is generally behaving better than the DLink kit. That said, we are on our second wireless card since the original was blue screening Windows XP.

The “faulty” Dlink kit is working very happily and efficiently on another customer’s site using Zen Internet.

Now the really good news, indeed the best bit of news we’ve heard all week, is the customer will not be staying with AOL once their contract is up. Roundtrip Solutions will be setting them up with Zen Internet.

We are delighted in many ways!

Don’t You Mean “Bog”?

Just been spell checking an email before Outlook sent it off. Within the body of the mail, Outlook suggested that I’d made a spelling error with “blog” and suggested “bog” as a suitable substitute!

Are Microsoft trying to suggest that blogs are toilets for our thoughts?

[Note to our foreign readers: bog is slang for a toilet in areas of Scotland]

We’ve Joined the Zen Partner Programme

Roundtrip Solutions Limited has just joined the Zen Internet Partner Programme.

We chose Zen as our Internet provider partner since they are the No 1 provider in the UK. This fact can be checked out over on ADSL Guide. Please contact us for more information if you’re unhappy with your current Internet provider. You can migrate for FREE to Zen. RSL can also assist people to get connected with the best Internet provider available.

We will handle the order process for you, track your order and ensure a smooth connection to Zen. Customers ordering Zen through us can get free telephone support from us in addition to the excellent Zen support.

Notice to Blog Spammers!

This blog has been suffering from attempts to post SPAM comments, not that any have so far got past our filtering and moderation system. A number of us WordPress users have been searching for a solution to this problem. Craig Murphy has found a fellow blogger whom has written a WordPress hack that uses the image code entry system, as seen recently on many of the major email provider sites.

For the benefit of other WordPress bloggers, the hack can be found at WordPress Hack: AuthImage. Within the next few weeks we will be testing and if found appropriate installing the hack into this site.

Spammers, and you know who you are, you are now on notice!
