Normally we’d have replied to this email in a polite manner and answered the inquiry. However, alarm bells were ringing with this one and a little investigation revealed the email had originated from a computer in Ghana. We could have had some fun like those wonderful people over on 419 Eater, but this would have taken too long and might not have been as satisfying as the reply that went back:

The price is £30,000 per computer. Cash upfront paid into a Swiss Bank account. Delivery in six months.

Why would I want to send computers to Ghana? Please don’t insult my intelligence!

Regards

John

Which was very promptly followed up with an email to the Yahoo Security Team informing them that suspicious / criminal like activity was happening on this account. We’ll keep you updated on how Yahoo respond to it.
