IE7 and Acrobat Reader Plugin Issue
We’ve been having issues with IE7 freezing and locking up a Toshiba Portege laptop. After some simple diagnosis, it was found to be caused by the Adobe Acrobat Reader plugin integration.
Simple enough fix in this case:
1. Close down all applications
2. Start Acrobat Reader
3. Go to Edit -> Preferences -> Internet
4. Untick the “Display PDF in browser” option
5. Click Ok and wait for the Acrobat Reader installer to perform its magic and uninstall the plugin from any browsers installed.
IE7 works a treat once this plugin is uninstalled from the browser. You may also find disabling it will work for you.
The video driver was also causing issues and required to be updated.
