Outlook Error Message: Managed MAPI Service Catastrophic Failure

You’ve double clicked on your Outlook 2003 icon to be greeted with the following error message multiple times:
This problem struck one of our customer’s laptops!
The CLR part of that would suggest something to do with the .NET framework, but that doesn’t quite make sense as Microsoft Office doesn’t need the .NET framework to run. After some investigation and un-installing and reinstalling of applications and “Windows bits”, it turns out the problem is a corrupt Outlook (email) profile.
Solution is therefore real easy: Create a new profile.

Yes, you’re absolutely right. Creating a new profile can be a right pain as you have to work hard to get things back to the way you like it.
