Can anyone believe the explanation for the massive Skype outage last week? There are more holes in it than a Tetley’s teabag! Either their explanation is incomplete or there is more to the story than is being revealed. The explanation is being questioned all over the place!!!
Their management is blaming the Microsoft August Updates for a massive restart of computers which caused chaos on the Skype network. That being the case, why haven’t things broken on previous Patch Tuesdays - after all we get them ever single month!

The problem with Skype is that the software was founded on Kaaza (p2p).
I must admit I have fallen a little out of favour with it recently, its so bloated.

Kaaza, the support person’s golden goose. You always know a system will be trashed if it has got Kaaza on it. It isn’t necessarily Kaaza doing the damage, more like the lack of knowledge of the end user: if someone’s using Kaaza then they’ll usually be dumb enough to be caught by all the other nasties out there on the http://WWW.
We can’t believe that people are still using Kaaza, especially in light of many antispyware apps catching the adware component! We’ve actually got a PC in for repair at the moment that has, or should that be had, it installed. Here was us thinking most of the downloaders had long gone over to Limewire. Obviously not.
