To find the optimal size of MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) for your computer to connect to a network / broadband router, perform the test here.

In addition to the information on the test page, it is necessary to change the router MTU size, which is usually done by logging into the web interface and changing the MTU size field on one of the set-up screens.

Default sizes in the UK are:
ADSL   = 1458
ADSL2 = 1500 or 1478 if 1500 causes problems
