This was a most interesting presentation by John and James. I for one hadn’t realised the extent of the security threats to personal (and corporate!) computing, nor the wide range of security software availabe to combat it. There is an excellent resource section on the pdf of the presentation which I would recommend anyone interested in this area to make use of.

I’m glad you both enjoyed the presentation so much. It makes it all worthwhile when we know there are a few more secure computers in the world through our efforts!

I was recently spammed to give a presentation to a local small business group, thank god i found your prez, i went through it and found it extremely useful - well done guys! I use or have used most of the software you listed but that linkscanner is the mutts nuts, the way you formatted the information was great and the non tech audiance i had, really enjoyed the low level easy to understand way i put it across (thanks to some . blatant plagiarism from your pdf

You may be interested to know that the new AVG Security Suite includes Link Scanner technology along with antirootkit, antivirus, antispam and a 2 way application level firewall. Very nice product indeed and a great price for everything it does,
The presentation was also well received when we first presented it to the IET South East Scotland Local Network. Not one person in the audience was yawning or falling asleep, which is unusual for a two hour presentation held in the evening!
We must have done something right!
